As long as your backup product supports backing up to a disk file, then you can backup to a NAS device. Simply NFS or CIFS mount the NAS filer to a backup server, create a disk device on the filer and then use that disk device as the destination for a backup. Once that is done, you need to duplicate those backups to tape. How this is accomplished depends on your backup software.
Remember to do it in such a way that restores can come directly from tape instead of being forced to go through the filer.
