Q

Finding the WWN for a storage device

How do find the WWN for my storage device?
If you have the packaging the device arrived in, the WWN should be in the documentation. Depending on the device, there may also be some external indicators of the WWNs. You should also be able to use your storage device's management software or interface to indicate the WWN of the device and specific volumes. Host-based tools available from the various adapter vendors, as well as operating system configuration tools, can also be used. Finally, switches provide utilities that can show what devices are attached to different ports along with their WWNs.
