Many different kinds are used by vendors. Probably the most common is an Intel Pentium. That should be irrelevant to a NAS user because they don't see anything except the remote file serving that is provided by the NAS device. Anybody that worries about the speeds and feeds of a processor in a NAS device is either a storage system designer or someone who is being seriously misled by a vendor.
