Contact vendor for error message troubleshooting

On my NT server I keep getting repeated failed backups. I am using Seagate's Backup Exec and my errors vary. Sometimes it is "The semaphore timeout period has expired" or "Data error (cyclic redundancy check)" and it usually occurs on the C: drive. I've cleaned my tape drive and the backup tapes that I use are fairly new. They are only about three months old. Could you please advise what you think may be the problem?

These types of runtime problems are difficult to troubleshoot from my vantage point. I haven't seen those particular messages before. I would recommend you contact Veritas for support.
