Q

A solution nightmare

What is the best solution to backing up a SAN of 6TB or more? Should I be thinking of everything being backed up...

within a timed window or use more and more incrementals? It's a nightmare trying to figure out which way to turn.

Backing up 6TB is a nightmare -- yes.

You have to do everything in pieces and work in parallel. The issue is the size of the largest file system (or database) in the SAN.

I recommend a LAN free backup system. Even so, there is a lot of detail to cover. You probably should hire a good backup consultant to tune your backup operations.

Marc
