Acronis Recovery for Microsoft Exchange
Acronis applies its backup and disaster recovery to Microsoft Exchange with this new product that allows user access to Exchange even while the full database is still being recovered. It provides near-continuous data protection (CDP) and its hot backup feature allows backing up of Exchange without having to take mail service offline.
Asigra Televaulting - Version 8.0
Asigra's agentless backup application is used by both enterprises and managed backup vendors that provide cloud-based backup services. With version 8.0, Asigra beefs up Televaulting's policy-based backup capabilities and enhances its support for all of the popular server virtualization environments. SAP and SharePoint were also added to its roster of supported apps.
BakBone NetVault: Backup v8.1 and NetVault: Backup VMware Plugin v1.0
BakBone's backup app's architecture is modular, allowing easy addition of new plug-in capabilities. The new NetVault: Backup VMware Plugin v1.0 supports VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB) and removes the burden of backup from production servers while integrating with BakBone's flagship NetVault: Backup suite. The plug in is policy based, eliminating the need to write custom scripts.
Continuity Software RecoverGuard v3.0
Continuity was one of the first companies to provide an application that can monitor and find gaps in DR plans. The latest version of RecoveryGuard adds VMware support, enhancements to its high-availability monitoring features and better integration with configuration management databases.
FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS) 6.0
FalconStor NSS 6.0 provides granular data protection using its TimeMark snapshot feature. It also integrates with VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM), and can support physical-to-virtual or virtual-to-virtual replication, and a wide range of hardware.
InMage Systems DR-Scout 4.2
DR-Scout provides CDP with custom integrations that ensure timely failover for several popular applications, including Microsoft SQL Server, SharePoint and Exchange, SAP, and Oracle. Version 4.2 extends support for virtualized servers and features enhanced reporting capabilities.
Paragon Software Group Drive Backup 9 Server Edition
Paragon's backup application has been a favorite of small and midsized businesses (SMBs) for years because it provides comprehensive disk-based data protection without complexity. Version 9's scripting engine makes it easy to generate scripts to automated operations. Users can test their backup jobs to see the effects of any changes that were made, before actually committing and running the jobs. Drive Backup 9 also allows restoring to dissimilar server equipment.
Spare Backup Inc. Spare Switch Data Transfer Version 4 (and Spare Backup Version 5)
Spare Switch is an online data migration service designed for SMBs to easily transfer data to new hardware configurations with the help of new wizards. Spare Backup is the company's related online backup service, which has added open file support and an auto-pause feature that will temporarily stop a backup if the computer's resources are needed for another operation.
Symantec Backup Exec 12.5 for Windows Servers
Backup Exec is a widely deployed SMB backup application. With each new version, its capabilities approach those of its enterprise sibling, NetBackup. Version 12.5 adds agents for VMware and Microsoft virtual servers, Windows Server 2008 support, and enhanced SharePoint agent and Infrastructure Manager, which provides insight into your backup environment.
Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 8.5
Symantec adds full bare-metal recovery to its popular suite of backup apps. It uses snapshot technology to capture full system images that can be restored to dissimilar hardware, and allows physical-to-virtual server recoveries. In addition to full system restores, users can selectively restore on a granular basis, recovering individual files or even specific Microsoft Exchange messages. System Recovery is a standalone product that does not require Backup Exec.
VMware Site Recovery Manager 1.0
Virtualizing servers allows consolidation and economy, but can cause data protection headaches. VMware, the leading server virtualizer, offers a solution to this problem with its Site Recovery Manager (SRM). SRM protects virtual servers' data, creating disaster recovery scenarios that allow automated failover and can be tested nondisruptively.
